We can’t wait to celebrate with you in our favorite mountain town, Buena Vista, Colorado. The nearest major airport is Denver International (DEN), about a 3-hour drive away - a scenic trip through some of Colorado’s most beautiful mountain views.

We recommend renting a car and enjoying the drive! Below you’ll find travel tips, directions, and local favorites to help make your trip smooth and memorable.

getting there

From Denver International Airport (DEN) ~150 miles / ~3 hours
From Colorado Springs Airport (COS) ~110 miles / ~2 hours 15 minutes

Note: If coming from Denver, US Hwy 285 will show as the fastest route. I70 takes about 10 minutes longer. Neither one is better than the other, but be aware US Hwy 285 will be a two-lane mountain highway for 140 miles.

We recommend booking your stay early!! Buena Vista is a small town with limited accommodations, especially on a summer holiday weekend.

getting around

Buena Vista is a walkable town and all events will be within a 15 minute walk of each other. Should you prefer a car to get around, see below:

Parking: Complimentary parking is available at Surf Hotel, throughout South Main, and downtown Buena Vista.
Rideshare: Uber/Lyft are available but limited in Buena Vista

Joyful Bakery: A great coffee shop across the park from Surf Hotel. Famous for their cinnamon rolls only available on Saturday's (they come out hot around 9am). Grab a coffee here and walk the river path
Coyote Mezcalaria: Bike shop turned mezcal bar, also across the park from Surf Hotel. Even if you don't love aged agave this is a great spot to stop in
Lobacks: Classic bakery and coffee shop on Main Street, great for donuts
Buena Viking: Great spot on main street known for gourmet burgers, worth the wait if there is one (there will be)
Simple Eatery: Healthy lunch spot with a great patio inside an outdoor gear store
The Slammer: Buena Vista's original jailhouse turned bar, this is a must see stop!
The Lariat: This is your late night spot for you party animals
Spark Provisions: Great spot for gourmet grab-and-go, wine, and charcuterie. Would be a great place to grab some things for your Airbnb
Buena Vida Wine & Spirits: The most organized liquor store you'll ever walk into, convenient to the Surf Hotel
River Walk Trail: There are plenty of hikes around Buena Vista, but we love this easy (flat) 1.5 mile loop along the river that picks up and ends right at the Surf Hotel. Perfect trail for a morning coffee walk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When and where is the wedding?

A: The wedding will take place at 4:30pm onsite at the Surf Hotel in the Chateau Courtyard. Please arrive to find your seats no later than 4:15pm!

Q: Will the ceremony take place outside?

A: Yes! The ceremony will take place outside in the Chateau Courtyard, shaded by plenty of Aspen trees. The rest of the evening will take place indoors or on covered patios.

Q: Can I bring a plus one?

A: Only guests listed on your invitation are able to attend

Q: Are kids invited?

A: While we love your little ones, this will be an adults only celebration

Q: Will transportation be provided?
A: Transportation will not be provided. Buena Vista is a very walkable town, and there are plenty of nearby parking options for guests who choose to drive
